§ 32-33. Additional restrictions applicable to certain minors.

(a)

Safety training and adult supervision required. Notwithstanding any other provision of this article, no person under the age of 16 shall discharge any gun, pistol or other firearm or weapon within the city limits unless they have taken a gun safety training course and present a certificate of completion and a parent presents written assurances stating they will be present at all times a shotgun or bow and arrow is in the possession of the minor.

(b)

Duty of parent or guardian to ensure compliance. It is a violation of this section for a parent or guardian of any person under the age of 16 to knowingly permit such minor to discharge any gun, pistol or other firearm or weapon within the city limits, without having obtained the proper training and permits and obeying procedures as dictated by state law.
